
Rev. Timothy Tseng, Ph.D.
Dr. Timothy Tseng is the Pastor of English Ministries at Canaan Taiwanese Christian Church in North San Jose/Milpitas, CA. He is volunteer director of AALC’s Healthy Church Leaders Initiative.
Tim has been a pastor at Canaan since 2010. Prior to that he founded and served as Executive Director of the Institute for the Study of Asian American Christianity (2005-2011). He has also been a Professor of Church History and American Religious History at a number of seminaries and colleges.
Tim is called to strengthen the Asian American Christian community through research, teaching, and supporting ministry leaders. He has published in the areas of Chinese American Christianity, Asian American studies, evangelical theology, and the history of race in the United States.
Tim did his undergraduate work at New York University (B.A. 1984) and studied at Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary before earning his M.Div. and Ph.D. from Union Theological Seminary in New York City. Visit his blog at timtseng.net.
